I guess I still don’t see why ghosts=bad but the monsters=lovable, loyal friends. Even for the adults the monsters are personal friends/allies who they seem to rather like having around. And it doesn’t seem like the kids’ monsters are anything but awesome, powerful pet-friends who the kids love and protect. None of the kids seem to regret having their monsters. So why they’d be against other kids also having monster friends, or why they’d want to kill the other ghost, doesn’t make sense to me. The ghosts are just pre-body monsters like Ayo and the rest. So I guess I don’t see why a baby getting an awesome friend and protector is a bad thing.
I don’t see the ghosts as bad but rather inconvenient. The kids don’t know what happens when a monster dies (like in Desmond’s case, since he’s now dependent of Guuzy to live). They can’t be sure what part of the body will turn into a monster, and it could put the kid’s life into danger. At least for 2 reasons, being chased down by shell, and losing a vital organ to a monster we know nothing about the lifespan of.
Plus, wasn’t there something earlier about complications when a ghost first attacks someone? I mean, even if something good comes out of it, it’s still a pretty traumatic experience. Also, we don’t know if ghost attacks are always successful. There’s been hints about something that happened with West or others, and it’s entirely possible that attacks can end very badly. And then, they also wanted to keep track of ghosts just so they could be there for the kids afterwards, to help them adjust and protect them from Shell.
Its been implied and stated here:http://www.monster-pulse.com/?webcomic_post=page-15-chapter-1 and on the previous page that victims need something to stabilize them and on that same page, its been implied (if not outright stated) that the hosts have died before.
Don’t tell me one of those Arma monsters got a baby…:(
Also..I was originally under the impression that West was going to be the “cry baby”.
Maybe the monster is babyish? And he still could be! It could be both of them!
My reaction was the same as ember, “aw hell, did one of those monsters get at a baby?”
….You’re not going where we think you’re going with this… are you? D:
I hope not.
Bina! Why must you get in the way of West saving the day? He is even properly attired!
Well, it’s not like the arma getting a baby wouldn’t fit the tone of this comic after the whole ‘beating Roger to death with a rock’ plot twist.
RIP Badassstache

Oh no, I hope that the baby didn’t get attacked…. WHY IS THERE A BABY IN THE FOREST IN THE FIRST PLACE??
Ok, five bucks says the Arma attacked a pregnant woman, who then gave birth due to the stress.
