Well then :[
Run! He’s a murderer! D:
LET HIM FINISH!
excuse me while I go into the corner to cry
oh no D:
don’t cry abel :’(
*sobbing forever* poor abel ;;;___;;;
Can I just say how much I love Julie’s body language on this page? I love that even though her hair is a monster, she still toys with Kera like she would with actual hair.
Seriously, Julie’s so expressive, it’s part of what makes her such a fun character.
Oh my gosh. I feel so bad for Abel. <3
I think I’ve gone into shock…
WHO DID HE MURDLER
MURDLERER! murdle murdle murdle
no, I mean, this is serious.
I’m going to hold my breath until the next page… Or whenever it is we get to see a flashback of when Abel killed this person. Must know what happened O_O.
oh mah gah
Monster Pulse is one of the few serial webcomics I read. Totally worth the inherent annoyances of serials. Great stuff.
And Abel is one of the few serial killers I like. Totally worth the inherent annoyances of serial killers. Great guy.
“I killed a man . . . with HIS. THUMB.”
Goddammit, now I’m just laughing.
>.< augh LOLOLOLOL
Kudos to you bro!
You made a depressing page seem a little more light and funny!
I thought I was ready for this.
For a guy who’s always so sad about accidentally murdering that person, he sure does stomp around threatening to kill everybody and everything a whole lot.
Do we know that it was an accident? I suspect that’s true, but I haven’t seen anything that confirms it yet.
And yeah, I’m not so sure he didn’t mean it when he said he’d kill Ayo back in Chapter 2. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.
Well, him being all upset by it does seem to imply accident.
I don’t think it was an accident. People get upset by things they meant to do- or had to.
Then again, maybe he didn’t know that killing the monster would kill the human, and in that was it was accident.
Then again, how many kids murder on purpose? Maybe he didn’t know killing a monster would kill their human if it was a vital enough organ.
Kids often use pretty clumsy defense mechanisms.
I think it’s just an automatic response when he feels threatened.
It may be a way for him to feel justified and not feel guilty about killing someone.
I wonder what the body part was? A brain, maybe? Something vital, apparently. I sure do hope Abel had a good reason for killing it though…
I’ve been following this comic for quite a while now, but this is the first time I’ve ever commented. I have to say, this is my favorite webcomic, and probably my favorite comic overall! I love the characters, the story, the art… what isn’t there to love? Anyway, keep up the great work!
Well, it could have been something of significant size, like a leg or something. That girl’s finger stumps bled, after all…
Maybe someone’s appendix!
I mean if your appendix bursts and you don’t go to the hospital on time it releases toxins that can kill you!
Maybe it was somewome close to him like a sibling. And maybe they treated their monsters like Pokemon and had them battle for fun?
…. But it ended badly
Hm… I was just warming up to Abel, but now he goes and blows it, saying that killing a monster doesn’t upset him. Ah well. *goes back to work on Central Nervous-System fan-mosnter*
I had kind of the same reaction. Really, Abel…?
I still like him, though, and I figure there’s more to the story. I don’t think there’s anything that would make me think that’s an okay thing to say or feel, but if (for example) he was like the Nguyens and saw the monster come out of someone he cared about and killed it without realizing what it was, it would be understandable to me that he would feel that way.
Also, Abel may not feel this way in the future. Character development and all that.
Erm… you really think he looks like what he did doesn’t bother him ? Because in the 2 last panels, I see a boy with an old man’s eyes… he seems so tired, so disgusted by himself…
Because he killed a human. I do see that that bothers him, but he says so himself that “I’m not upset because I killed a monster”.
I think the proper interpretation isn’t quite “I’m not at all bothered by killing a monster,” it’s more like “It may bother me that I’ve killed monsters, but I’m significantly more bothered by the fact that I killed a human being.” That’s a much more reasonable position.
It’s obvious that he’s not totally fine with monster killing by his reaction after he killed the little finger lizard thing.
Are we certain when he said “I’m not upset about the monster” he didn’t just mean “It’s not what I’m moping all the time about”? He was answering Julie’s question about the latter after all, and besides that, he can feel bad about something without getting in a constant grump over it.
I gasped. My eyes bugged out. My brain screamed “oh shi-!”
God, if this ends up like that page in the ‘Her Reason’ chapter I’m gonna scream. Because back then, when I read it, I was like, “Ohmygosh ohmygosh Julie’s gonna tell us why her monster is her hair!! I can’t wait until the next page!!!” Then on the next page, Bina was saying ‘..Oh, I see. What does West think about all this?’ And I was like, “Oh. AKRTHJDFF NO NOW I’LL NEVER FIND OUT!!” It still leaves me wondering, I hope the author will clarify this sometime… I mean, there was a lot of discussion in the comments but none of them were confirmed! There are so many possible reasons!!! SO ANYWAY I MUST KNOW ALL ABOUT ABEL AND HIS KILLING SOMEONE, AND HE MUST TELL US ON THE NEXT PAGE OR I WILL STRANGLE SOMEONE.
Oh, c’mon. The secret to Secrets Will Be Revealed is that they are revealed as slowly as possible.
……….Hey. Sudden thought. Was the person he killed… A MEMBER OF SHELL???? O_O
i just want to give him a big hug :C
I think perhaps he killed the monster without knowing what it was OR what part it was, and thus killed the person too before he knew that could happen….or he was threatened and lashed out without knowing what else to do.
Or he didn’t know it could potentially kill the host if the monster died.
THE FEELS. THE FEEEEEEEEEEEELS.
Hm…so he wanted to kill the monster, but didn’t want to kill the human? I wonder if perhaps a monster rebelled against its master, forcing Abel to kill it. The extent of the monsters’ free will has not really been explored yet, perhaps this is all building up toward some sort of revelation…
*que dramatic piano music*
This is so deep! I keep half-forgetting how young they are.
Abel already experienced this, and yet he still seems to be….all right in killing another monster. It was obvious that the lizard thing wasn’t a vital organ, but I’d think he’d be traumatized from accidentally killing another person.
I can’t wait to see what happens next, I’ve been reading for a while and I just want to say that I really love this comic.
