  1. Nick Roders says:

Oh no missing guards! What could it mean~?
    Their designs are pretty cool~

  2. Moofin says:

How dearly I love the face in panel 2.

  3. SOUPern00b says:

Two guards that aren’t where they should be. Anyone else thinking trap? At the very least she’s being let in… but why? Hmm…

  4. Angela says:

OhMAN what the heck monster kind of monster is that? I want to guess blood, but that would make no sense, really.

  5. smjjames says:

More like she doesn’t realize that the labs have been closed and on hiatus for two months.

Also, she’s suppoused to be Japanese or otherwise Asian?

Not to criticise your art too much, but her forehead does look somewhat funny. I had noticed that on the previous page, but I decided that it was just a wierd angle.

I’m not complaining or anything, just wondering why that particular style….

    • Magnolia says:

She’s not Asian, she is fully white. She just has small eyes. Dunno what you mean about the forehead unless its just that I’m getting used to drawing her face.

  6. Moss says:

So, assuming her monster IS her blood, if she got cut, would she not bleed? Also, is it encompassing both red and white blood cells?

I think I may be changing my favorite character. XD

    • Bartimaeus says:

“If you prick us, do we not bleed?”

      “…no.”

    • smjjames says:

I would guess that it’s encompassing blood as an entire system onto itself, so yes, it includes all blood cell types and everything else thats in it.

  7. Rob says:

Man, I really love the black/white/red colour scheme on these pages… it’s very visually striking, even in just the thumbnail image I get in my RSS feed.

  8. Mutterscrawl says:

    Ohdear…

Shell: Destroy ghosts, monsters and do research

Bina, Ayo, and the Alpha Samples: Protect people from ghosts and stay under the radar.

Red and a few ‘other’ samples: RELEASE ALL THE GHOSTS! EVERYONE SHOULD TOTALLY HAVE A MONSTER! WE NEED AN ARMY TO FIGHT SHELL! MWHAHAHAHAHA

    • Mutterscrawl says:

As a side note, who else thinks it’s important, and awesome that the ghosts have an open view of the stars from their chamber?

    • Mootelp says:

You know what you just reminded me of, Is Julie really an Alpha Sample, I mean think about, Bina’s Heart, Able’s Eye, West’s Stomach, and Julie, well her hair. I sense some future conflict coming up.

      • Moofin says:

Sure. Alpha just refers to the arma ghosts being from the first/best batch.

Also, I really like the idea of calling the kids the Alpha Samples. Cleans things up a bit.

  9. Vicks says:

She is totally listening to the Mission: Impossible theme on her ear-buds.

  10. smjjames says:

You know, it would be awesome to see if Kera can accomplish the same shapeshifting feats that Red is doing right now

Maybe she is the one who has been releasing the arma monsters? They’re definetly there for something.

  11. Loki says:

I notice she’s swinging with the crook down ( as opposed to hitting with the flat back of the crowbar). That can seriously hurt people, especially on the skull o_o;; That’s some character profile info there, in my book.

Magnolia, I would have also reminded people that there was a comic yesterday. Maybe on Friday (and probably Thursday too, for good measure), to remind them that there’s been 5 comic updates all this week? I dunno. I would figure “I have several hundred readers, and for every time I remind them that I’m updating a lot this week, a handful of more readers gets the message and doesn’t miss some comics ^_^”.

  12. Eirikr says:

I’m wondering whether panel 2 is her imagination outlining where the guards are supposed to be, or her monster outlining the same to wonder aloud or question her?
