    Aww, Guuzy. ;_;

  2. Alex says:

    Guuuuzzyyyy :…(

  3. Tzivya says:

That he spoke those words should be a big wakeup to himself.

  4. MacDiver says:

Why do I get the feeling that Greenie has some sort of imprinting power that makes people possessive and attached to it? That could explain Desmond’s sudden disinterest in returning Greenie and his inability to care about his own stomach monster.

    • MaryFilipina says:

It would be nice and convenient if that were true…but I think West is more messed up than he seems. Wanting to take care of Greenie may be causing some repressed issues to rise up, and hey maybe this is a good thing so maybe he can finally face his demons.

    • deathsbuddy says:

Actually that’s just what babies do.

  5. Moofin says:

    WEST.
    WEST.
    LOOK AT THAT SENTENCE.
IT CAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH,

  6. Eversist says:

I just noticed West’s arm doesn’t have a halftone on it in the first panel… Can’t tell if that’s dramatic lighting or a shading miss.

  7. Deb says:

Aw man, I retract my statement from the last strip. WEST! You’re neglecting your monster! NO you CAN’T take care of two monsters! Take care of yours!!

  8. Brian says:

I wonder if Guuzy is trying to get West to feed him (for the both of them)

  9. Karyl says:

West, when you fall down from hunger you’ll get a wake-up call. Yes Greenie is cute, but Guzzy is VITAL!

  10. Swits says:

I think West is acting like this because of how his parents treated him when Guuzy came into existence. He’s reminded of how hard it was for him to have a monster for one of his body parts, and doesn’t want the same for the baby.

Or the same for Greenie. Remember how West’s parents didn’t care for Guuzy? He doesn’t want the same for a baby monster.

He merely wants the baby to not go through what he has. He just doesn’t understand the right way to go about it which is reasonable, since he’s just a kid.

I don’t know about how he as toward Guuzy in this page, but maybe he’s tired of having his parents think of him in this certain negative light, and Guuzy reminds him of that and West wants to forget it. I think West is caring about Greenie more because the parents don’t know about it yet, and therefor Greenie has no negative connotations surrounding it like Guuzy does.

Guuzy might just want to comfort West at this point, as you see in the fifth panel, he looks frustrated and tired for West’s behavior, and wants to cheer him up.

But this is just my two cents on it.

  11. Quetzalrofl says:

You based Guuzy’s expression in the 5th panel on that Jackie Chan reactionface, didn’t you?

  12. +bird+ says:

Awawawa, poor Guzzy. :[ He’s bothering you for a reason! Can’t live without your stomach, man. West is so stressed out. These kids are forced to deal with so many big troubles. :/

  13. Char says:

Damn I love your writing Magnolia

  14. Corby says:

Bawww, Guuzy is being neglected this chapter.
Pretty sure your own stomach needs more care than a baby’s vocal chords.

  15. Deltart says:

    Guuzy…West…nooo…

West, I sympathize with you and think people have been too harsh on you in the comments, but you are doing to Guuzy exactly what your parents have done to you…

  16. Whisperer says:

I’m with Abel on this one.

  17. Jackie says:

This feels a lot like West is seeking out something to make him feel wanted. Like he subconsciously sees Guuzy as something that created a lot of turmoil in his life; if not for Guuzy he’d still have a good relationship with his parents and would be a normal kid. So he’s turning away from him in favor of Greenie. He feels unwanted by his parents and thinks maybe in Greenie he can have someone who wants and depends on him.

    Or something. 8I

    • VeryTired says:

He’d have a good relationship with his parents if his parents weren’t dickish. :|

They can be blamed for all of this since the situation wouldn’t be any different had something else happened to complicated West’s digestive system. Yes, his stomach is now outside his body and has a mind of its own but it doesn’t mean you sweep him under the rug like that. They could be wayyy more supportive, instead, they act like children themselves.

  18. VeryTired says:

Wow. I wanna deck West. And yes, I’m serious. He needs to deal with issues but not this way.
