Golden Boar updates return next week, 6/16!

I FORGOT TO UPLOAD THIS YESTERDAY... I'M SORRY... I guess my brain isn't used to being back on the update grind yet!

It's a shame too because I really love this art and couldn't wait to share with you... it's the boys!!! Looking so beautiful!! And drawn by Der-shing Helmer, who is one of my oldest and dearest friends, and whose work knocks me off my feet. The way Der-shing approaches art, writing and the form of comics has been an inspiration to me for as long as I can remember. If you haven't read Mare Internum yet, you're in for a treat. I love seeing Lion and Boar in Der-shing's style <3

GOLDEN BOAR RETURNS ON 06/16/26!

The hiatus is almost over! I've finally been able to work on the comic and built up a big enough buffer that I feel safe starting to update again. I really can't wait to continue the story with you all! :]

Every Tuesday/Thursday until the comic comes back, over the next two weeks, I'll have some nice guest art from some lovely friends to share with you. The first is this really beautiful Lupkei and Wolf by Carey Pietsch, who you probably know from the Adventure Zone graphic novels! Carey is a really lovely friend and I was so so thrilled that she wanted to draw these two for me, Lupkei especially looks so cute <3 I really couldn't wait to share it with you all!

Please believe me when I say I hate to do this. I love making this comic and I really can't wait to get back to it. But this is really the only thing I can do right now! 

Last time I had a baby, I had been unemployed with no kids for the previous year, so I had a 50+ page buffer to post through the newborn stage. No such luck this time!

I'll try to work on the comic when I can over the next few months, but I think I'd rather wait to post until I can get back to regularly posting pages every Tuesday and Thursday.

Thank you for being so patient and understanding. This comic is very important to me, and I can't wait to continue this journey with you.

Happy July! My second baby is due next month. I'l definitely have to put the comic on hiatus for a bit when that happens, but I'll be sure to keep you all updated. (When my first baby was born, I had something like a 50-page buffer, so I could keep updating without interruption. Now I finish pages the morning before posting them, haha...)

Welcome back everyone! Thanks as always for your patience. I finished my work on the other project for now, so it's back to Golden Boar! This would be the start of the second print volume (when it happens eventually). A quick little flashback to start things off.

That's the end of Chapter Five, and the end of Volume One of The Golden Boar!

What's next? Well, unfortunately I will have to put the comic on hiatus for about a month. I'm working on another graphic novel with a publisher, and I need to dedicate the next month to catching up on thumbnailing the book for the artist. I also want to take that time to continue setting up for the next volume of Golden Boar, and get it ready to be as good as I can make it. Keep an eye on this space for updates, but also, my Bluesky account is the best place to keep up with me and updates for the comic.

I don't have an exact date for Golden Boar's return- if I finish thumbnails sooner than expected, for example, I can probably start updating the comic again sooner. I'll let you all know as soon as I can. Thank you for reading along and sticking with me, and with this story. We're still really just at the beginning, so I hope you're excited for what's coming. I know I am. I wouldn't be here without all of you reading, so again, thank you so much. :]

Next week is the last week of updates for Chapter Five, and the last week of updates for Volume 1 of Golden Boar!

After that, on to Volume 2. 

I'd like to have it printed eventually, but it's not the right time right now. Hopefully sooner rather than later, though. It's definitely a priority, especially if you readers want it!

The lights in Merro's home (and most Moonforest homes) are set to come on when it's morning, even though it's always pretty much dark outside.
